This is not only pressure on financial management and risk reduction professionals, but it is also a concern of senior managers in the organization, industry, and all fields.

The Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme provides learners with the knowledge, skills to identify risks, perform activities to minimize risk impact, decision-making and department management skills as a senior manager.

The Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme is a risk management specialist training at Master level combining the UK’s Level Qualifications system and Switzerland’s famous higher education training system in risk management.

Upon graduation, fellows will contemporaneously receive 2 Master degrees:

  • The Master Degree belongs to the UK National Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF): OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Risk Management
  • Master of Sciences in Risk Management from SIMI Switzerland.

The distinctions in accreditation and recognition

The Master of Sciences in Risk Management is a dual degree programme, a collaboration between the national UK level training OTHM and the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI). Both organisations have achieved accreditations and recognition for the institution and programmatic.

  • SIMI is fully accredited by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, University and Colleges) at the highest Premier Institute level. The Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme is accredited by OTHM, a Level awarding organisation that is accredited by Ofqual.
  • OTHM is the UK’s Level Awarding Organisation, accredited and recognized by Ofqual UK.

List of Majors:

The learners participating in the Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme receive 2 independent Master degrees, which are based on the Master Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project. The  learners can choose one of the following majors:

  • Finance
  • Banking
  • Insurance

Other majors require pre-registration with SIMI Switzerland. SIMI Switzerland reserves the right to determine whether another major is suitable for the programme requirements.

The Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme from SIMI Swiss consists of 6 mandatory modules for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Self-directed Study hours for the completed qualification. After completing the first stage, learners enter the second stage with a Dissertation/ Casptone Projects/ Work-based Project. A Dissertation/ Casptone Projects/ Work-based Project can be a research or a specialised development project (the projetc’s speciality determines the graduate major). Graduation Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project gaining 60 credits, 600 hours of research and 300 hours of documentary research.

After each module, learners will take an ending exam. The end-of-module exams are application-oriented essays to help students review knowledge, apply knowledge in the workplace, and improve the practical environment.

Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project 

Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project will be associated with solutions in the workplace. It can be a scientific research, innovation study, a risk analysis and management project in the field in which you are working, managing or currently researching…A project must meet both research and practically applied standards.

Master candidates may choose from one of the following majors. The project’s speciality will determine the graduate major from the Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management programme. The majors to choose from include:

  • Finance
  • Banking
  • Insurance
  • And other majors (must be approved from SIMI Swiss before starting a Master Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project)

In addition to the entry requirements, candidates when registering for the programme, the admissions department also reviews candidates’ suitability before joining the programme to ensure that they can comprehend and gain benefits when participating.

Entry requirements:

To enrol the Dual Degree Master of Sciences in Risk Management, the learner must possess:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or achieved a Level 6 Diploma according to the European Qualifications
  • For a degree from non-recognized universities; The learner should have followed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy of SIMI.
  • Learners must be over 21 years old.

SIMI reserves the highest decision-making power for admission whether to accept or not accept after a specific review of each candidate’s profile to ensure that they can comprehend and gain benefits when participating.

For the fake university or the diploma mills, SIMI shall not be accepted.

English requirements:

If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent
  • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent

SIMI Switzerland has been accredited the “premier institution” status by the ASIC, and the programme is also accredited by Ofqual’s UK.

The programmes are strictly accredited by prestigious organisations; then, the graduated learner confidence participates in the labour market or/and easy learning connected to prestigious and equivalent educational systems.

Master of Sciences in Risk Management Degree

In addition to the UK Level 7 Diploma, after graduating from the programme, learners also receive a Master of Sciences in Risk Management from SIMI Swiss with full accreditation at the organisation and programme level.
