The Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Innovation Pedagogy is a programme consists of 120 ECTS credits (240 EU credits). Upon graduation, fellows will contemporaneously receive 2 Doctoral degrees:

  • OTHM Level 8 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice from Ofqual UK.Gov Awarding Body OTHM
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Innovation Pedagogy from SIMI Swiss.

The distinction in accreditation and recognition:

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in one of 17 Majors is a dual-qualification program, a collaboration between the national UK level training system of OTHM and the Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI). Both organisations have achieved accreditations and recognition for the institution and programmatic.

  • SIMI is fully accredited by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, University and Colleges) at the highest Premier Institute level. The PhD in Majors program is accredited by OTHM, a Level awarding organisation that is accredited by Ofqual.
  • OTHM is the UK’s Level Awarding Organisation, accredited and recognized by Ofqual UK.

Graduating from the dual degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Innovation Pedagogy programme, the learner could:

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Management and Innovation Pedagogyconsists of 120 credits according to the ECTS system (equivalent to 240 European credits) with 5 subjects and 1 doctoral thesis.

Dissertation (60 credits)

  • Thesis and Defend Thesis 60 credits

Duration and Learning method:

  • The programme takes a minimum period of 2 years and up to 5 years.
  • The Dual degree Doctoral in Business Administration with 17 majors is designed to be studied full-time in Switzerland or
  • Hybrid Learning model with local partners at SIMI’s international campuses

Assessment and Verification:

All modules and doctoral dissertation of the dual degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Innovation Pedagogy programme are assessed by SIMI and the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation UK. Learners must demonstrate mastery of knowledge and attainment of competencies described in detail in the programme’s Syllabus.

Entry requirements

To enrol the Dual degree Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Innovation Pedagogy, the learner must possess:

  • Graduated with a Master’s degree from an accredited university or achieved a Level 7 Diploma according to the European Qualifications
  • For a degree from non-recognized universities; The learner should have followed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)policy of SIMI.
  • Learners must be over 24 years old.

SIMI reserves the highest decision-making power for admission whether to accept or not accept after a specific review of each candidate’s profile to ensure that they can comprehend and gain benefits when participating.

For the fake university or the diploma mills, SIMI shall not be accepted.

English requirements

If a learner is not from a predominantly English speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent
  • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent

The Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Innovation Pedagogy with a dual degree programme is an accredited programme by both Horizons University France and Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI)

After completing the programme, a learner will receive:

  • Doctor Degree from Horizons University France: Doctor of Education (EdD)
  • Doctor Degree from SIMI Swiss: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Innovation Pedagogy
